新界西選民超過108萬，五區之中選民人數最多。今屆新界西選區競爭激烈，20張名單角逐9個議席。但細看每位候選人政綱理念，都未曾提及對少數族裔政策項目。而少數族裔佔香港人口百分之六，新界西作為少數族裔人口量最高的一區，卻無候選人關注過。他們對於區內候選人會有多少認識，對於今年立法會選擇又會有什麼看法？根據香港2011年少數族裔人口普查報告指出，新界西少數族裔人數約14萬人。亞文指出實際數字應比14萬要高，因為國籍問題未被納入統計當中。身住元朗的妮楠現年19歲，是一名出生於香港的尼泊爾人，雖然合乎資格做選民，但因為覺得政治複雜，故並沒有登記做選民。
